- The impending birth of gravitational wave astronomy is an exciting opportunity for expanding public interest in science. The emerging science will be exciting and the international nature of the science effort will provide a world-wide stage. We should define the education mission broadly, to include school children and their teachers, aspiring future scientists and engineers, the general public and science policy makers. This talk will review successes to date and opportunities to be pursued in the future.
